Wen-D Bouvier Pinkhouse was born on Staten Island, and has lived in every borough of New York City. Having grown up in the Big Apple, she is a consummate New Yorker. Wherever she goes, she takes that with her!
And so she went. Wen-D has lived in Virginia, New Hampshire and California. And yes...she was a young girl at Woodstock, the amazing music festival in 1969.
Wen-D’s college studies were in literature, art, and computers, but she has worked in many fields: cook, brothel manager, IT manager for a multi-national real estate company, and currently Operations Manager at the Grove Hotel, Fire Island's largest resort. She likes to say, "I have done it all."
She has served as an officer on the Board of Directors of the Imperial Court of New York and on the boards of directors of five other non-profit organizations.
Wen-D first heard of the Imperial Court of New York nearly 20 years ago when she saw the Cherry Grove Court members produce a benefit on Fire Island. They were people she already knew, but did not know of their incredible dedication to the Court and its work for the LGBT community. Having just lost one of her closest friends, Jack Doxey, to HIV, Wen-D wanted to do something that would help others. She joined the Court, and has been an avid volunteer ever since. She rose to the rank of Prince/Princess very quickly, and had a fabulous time doing it. She was awarded "Member of the Year" by Emperor Gabriel Della Notte and Empress Victoria V. Weston, an acknowledgement which she cherishes dearly.
Prince Royal Josef Boner-Parte and Wen-D developed a new event, "Christmas in July," a benefit for Bailey House. She originated the new member mentorship program. She has served on the By-Laws Review Committee, and has worked on countless events over the years. One of Wen-D’s favorites is the Drag Tag Sale on Fire Island with Empress Panzi and a group of other dedicated Court volunteers.
Over the years, Wen-D has served on every committee for Night of a Thousand Gowns. She was the first chair of a newly-created security committee. She ran the Night of a Thousand Gowns Silent Auction for five years, and has served as advisor to every auction chair since.
Wen-D has traveled extensively through the Imperial Court System and she looks forward to visiting new realms and revisiting many court friends. Her special interests include the youth and transgender communities.
Wen-D has taken the title, The Rock ‘n’ Roll Emperor of Peace, Love, Unity and Respect.
